Holly Russell started racing at the age of four on a quad bike and has been right into motorsport from that age. Holly’s dad built her a kiwi truck from scratch and from then on she got a handle on racing and fell in love with the sport.
Holly has been surrounded by some great mentors and role models her entire life. With these resources available to her, she is confident that she can continue to find success in all forms of racing. Holly is working her way up the ranks in short-course offroad and endurance racing. Holly has also moved back into Motorcross and is continuing to develop her skills in that area.
Holly has won a lot of titles in offroad racing. She placed 1st in the J class New Zealand National Championship in 2019, and achieved 2nd in the Juniors (J and M combined) in the same year. In 2018 Holly was 1st in the New Zealand short course champs, and in 2020 Holly achieved 1st in the Counties Classic Junior series.
Holly began driving her class 5 stadium buggy at the end of 2021 and during her first season competed in the Woodhill 100 – placing 1st in her class and 20th overall out of 52 cars. Holly achieved her first short course overall win in the stadium buggy at the Counties Classic in Auckland on May 21st 2022.
This year Holly will be driving full-time in her stadium buggy that has been imported from the United States. Holly will also be running the Nationals series in 2022 in the stadium buggy.
Holly took time off motorcross for off road racing but now in 2022 Holly is racing again on her motorcross bike. Holly won the womens solo for the first round of the Motomuck 2 Man in 2022 and placed 7th overall. Holly placed 2nd overall in the Northland Mx schools in 2022. Holly will be racing her Husqvarna 125 in as many North Island events as possible to hone her skills.
