ABOUT HOLLY RUSSELL
Holly Russell is an 18-year-old girl with a lifelong passion for motorsport. Holly is currently driving for BSL in an F2 Midget for the 2024-2025 season, and she is beyond excited to take on this new challenge in speedway.
Her journey in motorsport started at the age of 4 when she began riding quads. Over the years, she progressed through motocross, eventually riding a Husqvarna 250 by 18 years old. Alongside her motocross career, she started off-road racing at 7 years old in a trophy truck from the United States.
Holly has achieved some incredible milestones in her racing journey, including earning the 1NZ title in both Kiwi Truck and Stadium Buggy. She also proud to currently hold the NZ3 ranking for Senior Women in motocross. Now Holly is 3NZ in her F2 Midget in her first ever season in speedway.
Now, she is thrilled to expand her motorsport career into speedway, being apart of BSL in an F2 Midget. Motorsport has been her passion for as long as she can remember, and Holly is excited to see what the future holds!
Holly has won a lot of titles in Offroad Racing. She placed 1st in the J class National Championship in 2019, and achieved 2nd in the Juniors (J and M combined) in the same year. In 2018 Holly was 1st in the New Zealand short course champs, and in 2020 Holly achieved 1st in the Counties Classic Junior series.
Holly began driving her class 5 stadium buggy at the end of 2021 and during her first season competed in the Woodhill 100 placing 1st in her class and 20th overall out of 52 cars. Holly scored her first short course overall win in the stadium buggy at the Counties Classic in Auckland on May 21st 2022.
In the off season when Holly isn’t in her F2 midget speedway car, Holly will be racing her Husqvarna 125 and 250 in as many New Zealand events as possible to hone her skills.
